Our Story:

When we began our business in the spring of 1985, Finials was a lamp shop selling a wide variety of lamps for the home and offering a large selection of replacement lampshades. After two years we had the opportunity to purchase our present location. The quite house on the corner of State and Dawn had been a Scandinavian gift shop for a number of years. As we moved into the new location after extensive remodeling and decorating, we fell in love with our Swedish heritage. So, we decided to try something very unusual and combine the two businesses. Over the passing years, we have added on to the property yet with a concern to keep the charm of the original building.

Presently, our 13 room “little red stuga” is filled with a wide variety of Scandinavian gifts. We shop various markets each year as well as going to Scandinavia each year in order to offer the best selection possible. Now you will see beautiful handcrafted wooden pieces to the very simple smor ( butter) knives. From the fine hand blown Orrefors crystal to the replacement glass for the Danish iron candleholders. We carry T-shirts to hand woven sweaters and so much more. Oh yes, we still carry over 2000 lampshades, have a wide selection of lamps and continue to do repair work on worn out lamps.
